I was raised pretty healthy but lately i feel like i've been eating lots of junk. my aunt did this ten day colon cleanse where you eat nothing and you drink a mixture of fresh lemon juice, organic maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water 6-10 time a day or whenever you're hungry. I really like being healthy and i think it would be cool to totally detoxify my body. the mixture supposedly has all the essential nutrients. I was just wondering if this would be ok for a 14 year old like me because i know in early teens you need lots of nutrients. or maybe i could make slight changes to the cleanse if I had to. I would like it if nutritionists/doctors answered but anyone's opinion would be great. thanks!
Do not cleanse your colon on this diet. This is not a healthy solution to cleaning your colon. Switch the junk food with healthy foods that contain natural sugars and fiber. Plus, you should eat, because we are not meant to live off of solely liquids. the healthy thing to do is eat well and exercise.
-If this is a weight loss based decision, don't do this. you WON'T be getting essential nutrients and you will gain back the weight you lose.
Not in the slightest. you are too young and your body is not matured enough to handle such a drastic change in diet. Forget colon cleanse, it is a joke. the only way to "cleanse" your body is to cut down on the junk food and fill your diet with fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean, hardy protein like fish, nuts, and white meat chicken.
You are 14, all you have to do is drink more water and start eating healthy your body will cleanse itself. colon cleansing is for older people who's metabolism need a boost.
I'm sure you'd be fine.
